FAC FacSimile, an imprint on a check or other financial document that resembles a revenue-stamped imprint. Most facsimiles were used after July of 1883 when actual imprints were no longer required. In 1883 check printers began printing facimile images because their customers were used it the imprints on financial documents, and this kept recipients from worrying about the lack of a stamp. FacSimiles were also used by colleges to get their students used to seeing imprints.
